David joined NIH/NIEHS/DTT as Chief of the Predictive Toxicology Branch in October 2022.

The Predictive Toxicology Branch (PTB) partners across the NIEHS Division of Translational Toxicology (DTT) to develop and apply innovative approaches to predict human-relevant health effects from agents of interest to DTT. DTT is a team-based scientific organization, and its mission is to improve public health through development of data and knowledge that are translatable, predictive, and timely.

Capabilities of the Branch include the development, validation, and application of computational tools, dose-response models, and systems toxicology models. The Branch serves as the DTT lead for key partnerships such as the interagency Tox21 Program and the Interagency Coordinating Committee on the Validation of Alternative Methods (ICCVAM).

The goals of PTB are carried out by the following groups.

• NTP Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods
• Spatiotemporal Exposures and Toxicology Group
• Toxicoinformatics Group

PTB scientists contribute to NTP report and monograph series and publish findings in the NIEHS report series and peer-reviewed scientific literature. Staff publications can be viewed on the webpage.
